Yaoyao Liu will leave commodities trading giant Vitol. His career has seen dramatic ups and downs, having earned the company billions of dollars through oil derivatives trading. According to people familiar with the matter, Liu, now 39, stopped participating in day-to-day trading around the middle of this year. His departure comes as his team's trading book has posted significant loss-making positions for two consecutive years. However, before this year's trading turmoil, he had already begun planning his retirement as early as 2025.
