Since the beginning of this year, the Hong Kong stock IPO market has remained vibrant. While a number of companies have successfully listed on the capital market, underperforming companies are also being accelerated out. Wind data shows that as of October 15, 36 Hong Kong-listed companies have completed delisting during the year, of which 25 were forcibly delisted by the Hong Kong Stock Exchange; several other companies have been approved for delisting by the HKEX Listing Committee and are about to exit the Hong Kong stock market. Compared with the same period in 2025, the delisting pace of long-suspended companies has accelerated. Multiple market interviewees said that accelerating the clearing out of poor-quality listed entities can enhance the overall quality of the Hong Kong stock market, improve market liquidity, and guide capital toward high-quality enterprises. However, delisting and clearing out does not mean simply "delisting and being done with it": how to shorten the uncertain suspension period while ensuring that small and medium-sized investors enjoy full information disclosure and complete channels for rights protection and remedies remains an area that this delisting mechanism still needs to continuously improve.
