Fed Chair Warsh Says Productivity and Employment Working Group Hearing to Be Held Next Month
Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh said his productivity and employment task force will hold a field hearing in the San Francisco Bay Area next month. Speaking at a moderated discussion on Friday morning during the IMF annual meetings in Bangkok, Warsh announced the hearing will take place on Nov. 16. Warsh said the task force will "get to work" on a range of issues, including the economic impact of artificial intelligence. In June, Warsh established five task forces composed of outside experts to study key areas of monetary policy making. He has said he expects the task forces to submit recommendations to the Fed around the end of this year. Warsh did not comment on monetary policy or his outlook for the U.S. economy.
