Apple joins Nvidia to become the second publicly listed company to surpass a $5 trillion market capitalization.
Apple closed with a market capitalization of $5 trillion for the first time, a latest milestone that reflects market optimism about its new product lineup, especially the foldable iPhone. Apple shares rose 0.5% that day to close at $342.96, with its closing market value just crossing the $5 trillion mark. This is the first time Apple has ended the day with a market capitalization firmly above $5 trillion; in July, it briefly broke through that threshold during intraday trading before falling back. Since its August low, Apple shares have gained more than 13% cumulatively. Apple is the second company globally, after Nvidia, to reach this market capitalization milestone.
