CAAM: September passenger car production and sales up month-on-month, down year-on-year; exports continue high-speed growth

Zhitong Finance APP has learned that, according to an analysis by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in September, passenger vehicle production and sales increased month-on-month and declined year-on-year, while exports maintained high-speed year-on-year growth. In September 2026, passenger vehicle production and sales reached 2.626 million units and 2.588 million units, respectively, up 10.9% and 8.6% month-on-month, and down 9.4% and 9.5% year-on-year. From January to September 2026, passenger vehicle production and sales reached 19.966 million units and 19.96 million units, respectively, down 6% and 6.1% year-on-year.
