Ministry of Education: With over 120,000 program points, China's vocational education basically covers all fields of the national economy.

The reporter learned from a press conference held by the Ministry of Education today that China has built the world's largest and high-quality modern vocational education system. In terms of the tier structure, the layout of "secondary vocational education - higher vocational college education - vocational undergraduate education" has been completed. As of the end of 2025, there were 9,151 secondary vocational schools and 1,554 higher vocational colleges nationwide. At present, there are 124 vocational undergraduate schools, and another 52 regular higher education institutions offer vocational undergraduate programs, breaking the "ceiling" that limited vocational education to the junior college level. In terms of the program system, as of the end of 2025, vocational education had established 19 major program categories, 97 program classes, and 1,491 programs, with more than 120,000 program sites across the country's vocational schools, covering all 41 major industrial categories and basically encompassing all fields of the national economy.
