Apple acquires Huxe through a reverse talent acquisition.

Apple disclosed on the European Union's Digital Markets Act case database website that it has reached an agreement to absorb the team members and related technology of personalized audio startup Huxe, in what the industry commonly calls a reverse acqui-hire. According to reports, Apple notified the European Commission that it agreed to extend employment offers to "certain Huxe AI employees" while also "obtaining a non-exclusive license to Huxe's intellectual property." Huxe's founding team previously worked on Google's NotebookLM project. Huxe announced the shutdown of its business on May 21; the team said in a post on its official website huxe.com that it would remove the app from the Apple and Google app stores, cease services, and delete all user data.
