Goldman Sachs: U.S. data center growth outlook through 2027 largely unchanged
Despite growing resistance from local communities and political circles in the United States, AI-related demand continues to support new computing capacity supply and has not materially slowed the pace of U.S. data center expansion. Goldman Sachs said its updated forecasts still show the industry will maintain strong growth through 2027, with only minor adjustments between its 2026 and 2027 estimates. Goldman Sachs raised its 2026 U.S. data center capacity forecast by 5 gigawatts to 64 gigawatts, while lowering its 2027 forecast by 5 gigawatts to 90 gigawatts.
