The armed conflict in Sudan that broke out in April 2023 has now lasted for more than three years. Local agricultural infrastructure has been severely damaged in the fighting, and grain output has fallen sharply. Since the beginning of this year, as tensions in the Middle East have continued, prices of energy and agricultural production inputs such as fertilizer have kept rising, pushing up Sudan's agricultural production costs, bringing new pressure to local agricultural recovery and reconstruction, and further worsening the local food security crisis.
