The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs held a working meeting with the Shanxi Provincial Government on October 10. Zhang Zhu, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Lu Dongliang, Deputy Secretary of the Shanxi Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Shanxi Province, attended the meeting. Zhang Zhu stated that the Shanxi Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government have consistently placed work related to agriculture, rural areas, and farmers at the top of their agenda, vigorously advancing grain production, consolidating and expanding the achievements of poverty alleviation, developing dryland farming, cultivating rural specialty industries, and promoting rural development, achieving a series of notable results. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs will thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on work related to agriculture, rural areas, and farmers and his important speeches and instructions on Shanxi's work, vigorously support Shanxi in grain production, solidly advance the construction of high-standard farmland, develop high-quality dryland farming, integrate and promote comprehensive technical models such as integrated water and fertilizer management, promote balanced yield increases over large areas, and enhance comprehensive agricultural production capacity and quality efficiency. We will refine and excel in rural industries that enrich the people, advance deep processing of agricultural products, improve mechanisms linking farmers and driving them along, and promote employment and income growth for farmers. We will implement the requirements of regular assistance policies, firmly hold the bottom line of preventing large-scale return to poverty, and further enhance endogenous motivation and self-development capacity. We will deeply study and apply the experience of the "Thousand Villages Demonstration and Ten Thousand Villages Renovation" project, build livable, business-friendly, and beautiful villages according to local conditions, and reasonably address shortcomings in modern living conditions in rural areas. We hope the ministry and province will strengthen coordination and resonate at the same frequency to jointly accelerate Shanxi's agricultural and rural modernization.
