Five-Year Plan Unveiled: Sichuan Aims to Add Nearly a Thousand Specialized, Refined, Distinctive, and Innovative SMEs

According to Sichuan Release, the Sichuan Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology recently issued the "Work Plan for Promoting the Development of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Sichuan Province." The Plan proposes improving the cultivation system for technology-based and innovative small and medium-sized enterprises, specialized, refined, distinctive and innovative (SRDI) small and medium-sized enterprises, and SRDI "little giant" enterprises. It calls for establishing a two-way discovery mechanism for potential enterprises both inside and outside the quality enterprise database, and conducting intelligent diagnostics and targeted empowerment. It supports the upgrading of the Chengdu SRDI Enterprise Empowerment Center and seeks to build a national SRDI empowerment center jointly by the ministry and the province. It also calls for compiling an SRDI enterprise development index. At the same time, it will explore leapfrog development of key provincial-level SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises and strengthen the application, recommendation, and follow-up services for key "little giant" enterprises. The Plan specifies that efforts will be made to increase the number of SRDI small and medium-sized enterprises from 6,010 in 2025 to 7,000 in 2030.
