Synopsys and Amazon Reach Multi-Year Strategic IP Agreement for Custom Chips

On October 10, according to Synopsys, Synopsys recently entered into a strategic collaboration with Amazon to use Synopsys silicon IP and AI-driven engineering software solutions to accelerate the development of Amazon custom chips and AWS infrastructure. The two parties signed a multi-year agreement valued at more than $1 billion. According to the introduction, Synopsys will use AWS services to accelerate product development and collaborate with Amazon to optimize Synopsys software for Trainium and Graviton. The Synopsys engineering team will also adopt Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud and Amazon Bedrock to accelerate product development.
