The 2026 Meituan Labor Rules and Algorithm Consultation Meeting was recently held in Beijing. Frontline rider representatives from across the country held consultations with the Meituan platform on topics including labor remuneration, order dispatch rules, rest and leave, and labor protection, and signed the "2026 Meituan Labor Rules and Algorithm Consultation Agreement" on site. The agreement specifies that Meituan will increase the billing weight for orders that are more difficult to deliver, such as overweight orders, large-volume orders, and orders requiring walking up and down stairs, and increase income and remuneration under special weather conditions; continue to implement "no overtime deduction for cancellations," and continuously optimize mechanisms such as on-route order dispatch, delivery time limits, and estimated merchant meal preparation times; gradually expand the "red light stopwatch" pilot; and promote the implementation of the pension insurance subsidy policy to reduce the burden on riders participating in insurance, among other measures.
