A new round of the Ebola outbreak has broken out in eastern DRC. The security situation in North Kivu and South Kivu provinces has deteriorated sharply, with the DRC military and M23 continuing to engage in fierce clashes. The security situation in Ituri Province, Haut-Uele Province, and other areas remains grim. Illegal armed groups such as M23, ADF, CODECO, Mai-Mai militia, and Zaire militia continue to wreak havoc in North Kivu, South Kivu, Ituri, Haut-Uele, and other provinces. Violent clashes, armed robberies, kidnappings, and other incidents occur from time to time. Chinese citizens in the DRC continue to face a relatively high security risk. The Chinese Embassy in the DRC reminds all Chinese citizens in the country to attach great importance to security issues. Chinese citizens must not travel to extremely high-risk areas such as Ituri, North Kivu, South Kivu, and Haut-Uele provinces. Chinese citizens and enterprises still in these areas are requested to evacuate or relocate to safe areas as soon as possible. Non-essential travel to the nine provinces of Lualaba, Haut-Katanga, Bas-Uele, Tanganyika, Maniema, Kasa-Central, Sankuru, Lomami, and Haut-Lomami should be avoided.
