On October 8, the Shanghai Financial Regulatory Bureau released data showing that as of the end of August 2026, the total local and foreign currency assets of banking financial institutions within Shanghai jurisdiction stood at 31.08 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.81%.
