Sanya cracks down on suspected illegal and irregular commercial tourism activities within mangrove protection areas.

Today, China Media Group's news channel exposed the problems of illegal and irregular commercial tourism and the use of illegal fishing gear for fishing within Hainan's mangrove protection areas. That afternoon at 3 p.m., multiple departments in Sanya City, including the Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau, the Municipal Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau, the Municipal Public Security Bureau, the Municipal Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau, and the Municipal Forestry Bureau, carried out enforcement operations against illegal tidal-flat harvesting activities in several mangrove protection areas, including Jianglin Village and Qingtian Village in Haitang District. On site, staff mainly confiscated and cleared the operating tools and roadside advertising signs of illegally operating tidal-flat harvesting clubs, and carried out the confiscation and clearing of cage nets within the protection areas and floating rafts used as docking points for tidal-flat harvesting operations. As of 6 p.m. today, 7 tidal-flat harvesting sites within the jurisdiction had been closed, 19 illegal tidal-flat harvesting advertising signs had been confiscated; 570 cage nets had been confiscated; 4 floating rafts at illegal docking points had been seized, and 6 boats had been detained.
