Shell CEO Wael Sawan said on Tuesday that he believes the British oil giant's competitive advantage in Venezuela lies in natural gas rather than heavy oil, and the company will continue to look for other opportunities in the country. Venezuela signed five agreements with Shell in June to advance oil and gas projects, including the high-profile 7 trillion cubic feet Loran offshore natural gas field project.
