Mizuho Securities economists said that since the start of 2026, AI-related demand has significantly pushed up Japanese corporate goods prices, but since AI-related cost increases only affect some durable consumer goods, even assuming all costs are passed on to consumers, the upward impact on the consumer price index appears limited.
