Spain extends control measures for travelers entering from Italy until October 22.
On October 6 local time, Spain's official state gazette published a decree announcing the extension of entry controls at ports and airports for travelers from Italy until October 22. Italy had previously decided to once again extend control measures for travelers from Spain due to the immigration issue in the autonomous region of Ceuta, and this is also the fourth time Spain has taken measures in response to the Italian government. The Spanish government stated that the circumstances prompting the measure still exist, and therefore decided to continue extending the control period for travelers from Italy, but did not rule out that the originally scheduled period may need to be revised if circumstances change.
