It is reported that AMD CEO Lisa Su today made a round of intensive visits to major contract manufacturers and brand companies including Foxconn, Quanta, Asus, and Acer, and in the afternoon drove straight to Hsinchu for a closed-door meeting with foundry leader TSMC. Facing strong AI computing demand, Su confirmed that AMD's previously announced US$10 billion supply chain investment plan in Taiwan is not only on schedule, but because market demand has surged, it has decided to raise the related investment amount and will continue to expand its supply chain investment in Taiwan in the future. Su said it is very important for AMD to maintain close cooperation with key suppliers and partners. Regarding the supply situation for chips such as CPUs and GPUs, Su said bluntly that this is an exciting moment for all computing fields. This year, driven by overall market demand, AMD has greatly expanded production, but demand is still higher than supply, so AMD is working with TSMC, back-end packaging and testing providers, and substrate suppliers to accelerate capacity ramp-up.
