In September, major stock indices in the Hong Kong stock market collectively retreated, with the Hang Seng Index falling 3.73% cumulatively, the Hang Seng Tech Index dropping 7.92%, and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index declining 3.44%. According to statistics from Securities TimesDataBao, amid the market pullback, southbound capital recorded a total net buy of HK$60.776 billion in September, marking net buying for four consecutive months. Looking at the list of actively traded stocks in September, a total of 33 stocks made the list. Zhipu had the highest total buy and sell turnover via Stock Connect in September, reaching HK$93.376 billion, followed by Tencent Holdings at HK$87.232 billion. Others including YOFC, MINIMAX-W, SMIC, and Kingboard Laminates also saw total Stock Connect buy and sell turnover exceeding HK$50 billion in September. In terms of net buy amounts, Zhipu received a net buy of HK$7.884 billion from southbound capital. In September, southbound capital showed mixed buying and selling of internet giants, with Baidu Group-W seeing a net buy of HK$5.996 billion, Tencent Holdings a net buy of HK$2.585 billion, and Xiaomi Group-W a net buy of HK$1.958 billion, while Alibaba-W was net sold HK$1.153 billion by southbound capital, and Meituan-W was net sold HK$1.002 billion. Among other individual stocks, SMIC topped net selling at HK$6.49 billion.
