On October 2 local time, according to US sources, a source revealed that the co-pilot suspected of attacking the captain of a flydubai flight had previously been dismissed by another airline due to his extremist views. It is reported that this co-pilot, when he was previously employed by Oman Air, withdrew from a training program because he was deemed to hold radical views, and he was subsequently transferred to another position at the airline. Another source revealed that the co-pilot is an Omani citizen, and an Israeli official also confirmed his identity.
