Yesterday, the second day of the National Day holiday, the total cross-regional movement of people across the country was expected to exceed 300 million, with a notable increase in short- and medium-distance travel. Yesterday, the volume of road passenger movement nationwide was expected to exceed 280 million, and highway traffic volume remained at a high level. Travel was mainly characterized by roaming between scenic spots and short-distance transfers within regions. In terms of railways, 20.4 million passenger trips were expected to be made. In response to the concentration of short-distance passenger travel during the holiday, railway departments in many places increased the frequency of intercity trains to fully release transport capacity.
