Macron says G7 will release up to 100 million barrels of diesel and crude oil reserves
On the 2nd local time, French President Macron stated that the G7 will release up to 100 million barrels of diesel and crude oil reserves. Recently, the global diesel market has seen tightening supply and continuously rising prices. The U.S. government has asked European countries such as France and Germany to release emergency diesel stocks to ease pressure from rising global fuel prices, and warned that if Europe does not take further action, the United States may restrict or even ban diesel exports. U.S. President Trump had also previously publicly stated that he was considering this measure. According to people familiar with the matter, the United States has already made requests to France and Germany to release diesel stocks.
