According to foreign media reports, Goldman Sachs bankers earned huge commissions when handling SpaceX's (SPCX.O) IPO in June, but an even bigger windfall related to the listing was set in motion years earlier. More than five years ago, when SpaceX was valued at only tens of billions of dollars, the bank helped some high-net-worth clients invest in Musk's company. People familiar with the matter said that when SpaceX listed at a valuation of $1.77 trillion, Goldman clients who sold shares reaped enormous gains and paid the bank hundreds of millions of dollars in incentive commissions. The people said Goldman's partners were able to invest alongside clients, meaning some current and former executives may also have realized substantial gains.

According to Nikkei, Japanese company Toshiba plans to double its hard disk drive (HDD) production capacity within the fiscal year 2027, sending Western Digital and Seagate Technology sharply lower at the open. As of press time, Seagate Technology is down 12.4% and Western Digital is down 11%, though their year-to-date gains remain at 200% and 140%, respectively. Japanese media reported that Toshiba plans to invest approximately 60 billion yen ($380 million) to expand HDD production in the Philippines. This expansion marks Toshiba's first major investment in the HDD sector in several years. By storage capacity, Toshiba currently holds a market share slightly above 10%, but its medium-term target is to reach 30%.
