US Treasury yields fell after the release of the nonfarm payrolls data.

U.S. Labor Department data showed that new jobs in September fell short of expectations, causing U.S. Treasury yields to drop sharply. The 10-year Treasury yield recently fell nearly 0.1 percentage point to 5.15%; the 2-year Treasury yield, which is most sensitive to short-term interest rate expectations, also saw a similar decline.

US stocks opened with the Dow up 0.62%, the S&P 500 up 0.9%, and the Nasdaq up 1.2%. Nike (NKE.N) fell 7.4% as the company expects full-year revenue to decline sharply. Memory chip stocks were mixed, with Seagate Technology (STX.O) down 14% and Western Digital (WDC.O) down 9.8%. Tesla (TSLA.O) rose 2.3% as its third-quarter deliveries beat expectations.
