Zhito Finance APP has learned that TSMC (TSM.US) is studying the construction of a new campus in Texas, which would add tens of billions of dollars in new investment to its multi-year U.S. factory expansion plan. According to people familiar with the matter, the preferred chip foundry for Nvidia and Apple is scouting more overseas sites to respond to sustained surging demand for artificial intelligence hardware. TSMC has already committed $265 billion to a large base in Arizona, where multiple wafer fabs are under construction; one of the people said the envisioned Texas investment would also involve multiple wafer fabs.
