On September 30, the China Automobile Dealers Association released the latest "Automobile Dealer Inventory Warning Index Survey" VIA, showing that the automobile dealer inventory warning index for September 2026 was 63.2%, up 8.7 percentage points year-on-year and up 0.9 percentage points month-on-month, with the inventory warning index above the boom-or-bust line. Survey data showed that 54.2% of dealers believed that this year's "Golden September and Silver October" peak season effect was significantly weaker than in previous years, 33.7% believed that the peak season effect had basically disappeared, and only 3.6% believed that performance was better than in previous years. Although manufacturers intensively launched new cars in September and dealers increased promotional efforts, they still failed to effectively stimulate terminal sales growth, and the traditional peak season's role in driving consumer demand was very weak. Based on a comprehensive judgment, it is expected that passenger car terminal retail sales in September will be around 1.65 million units.
