OpenAI aims to raise at least $30 billion from investors in a new funding round after postponing its IPO plans, according to people familiar with the matter. The company is seeking a valuation of about $1.4 trillion (excluding the funds raised), and the financing discussions are still at an early stage and may change. The latest funding round is intended to serve as a bridge round, providing the company with additional funds in place of an IPO while OpenAI focuses on addressing AI safety concerns.
