On September 28, the "15th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the New Battery Industry," jointly formulated by seven departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Transport, was officially released. It states that the protection and efficient use of intellectual property across the entire chain in the new battery sector should be strengthened. We will improve the intellectual property protection and trade secret management systems, and build an intellectual property protection system covering R&D and innovation, commercialization of achievements, and industrial application. We will strengthen the layout of patents for key core technologies such as all-solid-state batteries, high-capacity long-life energy storage batteries, and high-specific-energy sodium batteries, and build a reserve of high-value patents. We will make full use of the "green channel" for prioritized patent examination, support enterprises in improving the quality and efficiency of patent application layouts, and establish a list of key patents for protection. We will strengthen international exchanges and cooperation on intellectual property, and actively participate in the formulation of international intellectual property rules.
