The United States issued an order requiring a coal-fired power plant in Colorado to remain in operation.

U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright issued an emergency order requiring the Three States Generation and Transmission Association, the Southwest Power Pool, the Platte River Power Authority, the Salt River Project, PacifiCorp, and Colorado Public Service Company to "take all necessary measures to ensure that Unit 1 of the Craig Station in Craig, Colorado, is in a condition to be placed into operation." The U.S. Department of Energy made the relevant statement in an emailed statement. The order takes effect on September 27, 2026, and remains in effect until December 25, 2026.
