Friday late New York session, spot gold rose 0.25% to $4,285.81/oz, down 2.11% for the week, continuing its overall decline. COMEX gold futures fell 2.35% for the week to $4,321.40/oz. Spot silver rose 0.79% to $64.3172/oz, down 2.93% for the week, after having risen to $67.5464 on September 22. COMEX silver futures fell 3.60% for the week to $64.730/oz. COMEX copper futures fell 0.18% to $6.7775/lb, up 1.29% for the week, after having reached $6.9285 on September 22. Spot platinum rose 1.43% to $1,781.56/oz, down 1.15% for the week. Spot palladium rose 0.22% to $1,270.83/oz, down 2.51% for the week. The Philadelphia Gold and Silver Index, trading during U.S. equity hours, fell 2.79% for the week to 383.48 points. The NYSE Arca Gold Miners Index, trading around the clock in global markets, fell 3.06% for the week to 2,657.73 points. The raw materials index, trading during U.S. equity hours, fell 0.53% for the week, while the metals and mining index fell 1.26% for the week. The State Street Metals and Mining ETF closed up 0.34% at $108.33, down 0.26% for the week, its fifth consecutive weekly decline.
