Novo Nordisk signs a drug technology cooperation agreement worth 1.165 billion euros with Sweden's Nanexa.

Swedish atomic layer deposition technology company Nanexa has issued a statement saying it has entered into a pharmaceutical technology collaboration agreement with Novo Nordisk worth up to EUR 1.165 billion. Novo Nordisk has obtained a global exclusive license to Nanexa's atomic layer deposition drug delivery technology platform for specific therapeutic peptide drugs, with indications covering obesity and type 2 diabetes. Novo Nordisk will be responsible for the global development and commercialization of the technology. The agreement includes an upfront payment of EUR 615 million and potential milestone payments. Nanexa said the agreement also provides that future product sales will be subject to royalty payments at a low single-digit percentage rate.
