In late New York trading on Thursday, spot gold fell 0.37% to $4,271.49 per ounce. Spot silver fell 1% to $63.7915 per ounce. COMEX copper futures rose 0.16% to $6.7645 per pound. The Philadelphia Gold and Silver Index, which trades during U.S. stock market hours, closed down 1.53% at 381.05 points. The NYSE Arca Gold Miners Index, which trades throughout the global market day, fell 1.75% to 2,645.04 points, remaining in negative territory for the entire day. It held slight losses before the open trading continuously around the 2,680 level before gapping down and then fluctuating at low levels. The raw materials index, which trades during U.S. stock market hours, closed down 1.30%, while the metals and mining index closed down 0.59%. The State Street Metals and Mining ETF closed down 1.48% at $107.96.
