The UK returns 12 lost cultural relics and artworks to China.

The handover ceremony for the return of 12 lost cultural relics and artworks from the UK to China was held at the Chinese Embassy in the UK on September 23. The 12 cultural relics and artworks returned by the UK were seized by the London Metropolitan Police during case investigations. Both China and the UK are states parties to UNESCO's Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property. Under the framework of the Convention, the National Cultural Heritage Administration, through the Chinese Embassy in the UK, collaborated with the British side and successfully achieved the return of the aforementioned cultural relics and artworks. *Xinhua News Agency
