Zhitong Finance APP has learned that SoftBank Group, owned by billionaire Masayoshi Son, has launched what is considered one of the largest corporate junk bond offerings in history, as the Japanese conglomerate turns to debt investors to fund its massive investments in artificial intelligence. As one of the world's largest AI investors, SoftBank has begun marketing the multi-part deal, with price guidance for the dollar-denominated portion currently underway. According to a person who requested anonymity because the discussions are private, the group plans to raise more than $11 billion equivalent through the offering, including a $10 billion dollar-denominated portion and a 1 billion euro (approximately $1.1 billion) euro-denominated portion.
