National Energy Administration: National electricity market trading volume increased by 19.2% year-on-year from January to August.

Zhito Finance APP has learned that, according to data from the National Energy Administration, in August 2026, power trading institutions across the country completed 754.8 billion kWh of traded electricity, a year-on-year increase of 15.2%. By trading scope, intra-provincial traded electricity was 563.8 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 16.0%; inter-provincial and cross-regional traded electricity was 191 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 11.4%. By trading variety, medium- and long-term traded electricity was 681.9 billion kWh; spot traded electricity was 72.9 billion kWh. Green electricity traded electricity was 26.4 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 7.7%. Market-based agency electricity purchases by grid enterprises were 78.2 billion kWh.
