HKMA studies requiring banks to enhance climate finance information disclosure

Zhito Finance APP has learned that the Hong Kong Monetary Authority is studying requiring banks to strengthen climate financing information disclosure. Chen Yi, Assistant Chief Executive (Banking Policy) of the HKMA, said that the authority plans to conduct a survey next year to understand how banks use the Hong Kong Taxonomy for Sustainable Finance, and the survey results will determine how to incorporate the taxonomy into regulatory practice.
