The U.S. State Department has notified Congress of its plan to sell up to 48 F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia for the first time, with the deal valued at up to $24.3 billion. The planned sale of Lockheed Martin F-35 jets to Saudi Arabia has been years in the making. If the deal is ultimately completed, Saudi Arabia will become one of the new operators of the F-35 fighter jet.
