ZHITONG FINANCE APP has learned that on September 17, Yu Weiwen, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, wrote that the Federal Open Market Committee of the U.S. Federal Reserve announced in the early hours of today Hong Kong time a 25 basis point rate hike, raising the target range for the federal funds rate to 3.75-4%. The HKMA, in accordance with the established mechanism, raised the base rate of the discount window to 4.25%, effective immediately.
