Nvidia (NVDA.O) partner GMI Cloud is seeking a $300 million loan to buy chips for its facility in Thailand, according to people familiar with the matter, adding to a list of such deals in Asia. The U.S.-based data center operator has approached banks and private credit funds for the financing, the people said. The proposed deal is expected to yield between 10% and 15%, or in the "low teens," they said. Proceeds from the self-arranged financing will be used to buy chips for GMI Cloud's project at a facility owned by STT GDC Pte Ltd. in Thailand.
