ZHITONG FINANCE APP has learned that in the early hours of September 17, the Federal Reserve announced it would raise the target range for the federal funds rate by 25 basis points, lifting the benchmark rate to 3.75%-4.00%. This is the Fed's first rate hike since July 2023. On the same day, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority raised its benchmark rate by 25 basis points to 4.25%.
