SK Hynix (SKHY.US) reportedly plans to manufacture memory chips in the U.S. for the first time, leasing Intel's (INTC.US) Ohio plant or forming a joint venture.
Zhito Finance APP has learned that South Korea's SK Hynix (SKHY.US) is reportedly in talks with Intel (INTC.US) over a deal that, if completed, would mark its first production of memory chips on U.S. soil. One potential option is for SK Hynix to lease part of the facilities at Intel's long-planned wafer fab in Ohio; another option is to form a joint venture with Intel and major cloud providers eager to secure memory chip supply.
