According to information from the U.S. side on the 15th, the U.S. government is withdrawing tens of millions of dollars in military aid funds from European and Middle Eastern countries and redirecting them to support certain Central and South American countries. It is reported that the U.S. Department of State notified Congress that day that it will reallocate $52 million in "Foreign Military Financing" originally intended for Slovakia, North Macedonia, Tunisia, and Iraq to Panama, Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia. The U.S. government's "Foreign Military Financing" program provides financing in the form of grants or loans for recipient countries to purchase U.S. military equipment and related services.
