Wildfire Devours More Than One-Tenth of Croatia's Third-Largest Island

The wildfire that had been burning for days on the Croatian resort island of Brac was generally brought under control on September 14. The fire has burned more than 5,000 hectares, exceeding one-tenth of the island's area. Brac, with an area of about 400 square kilometers, is the third-largest island in Croatia.
