Official report: A river embankment in Baise, Guangxi collapsed, with muck and debris piling up in the riverbed.

On September 15, the Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau of Tianlin County, Baise, Guangxi, issued a situation report: On the afternoon of September 13, a collapse occurred on the riverbank opposite the Yujing Longting residential community in our county. Upon verification, due to frequent rainfall in our county recently, the bottom of the riverbank retaining wall had been subjected to prolonged water flow scouring, causing the foundation to lose stability and triggering the retaining wall collapse. No casualties were caused. After the emergency occurred, our bureau immediately carried out emergency response measures, installing hard barriers and safety warning lines at both ends of the collapse area, prohibiting personnel and vehicles from entering the dangerous area, and strictly preventing secondary accidents. At present, our bureau has initiated river channel dredging and retaining wall reconstruction work, and is conducting full-coverage hazard inspections of riverbanks, slopes, and foundation pits along the route.
