Russia and India sign a $3 billion commercial aircraft deal.
According to a RIA Novosti report on September 14, Russia has recently reached its largest export agreement in the civil aviation sector since the collapse of the Soviet Union. Three Indian airlines signed framework agreements with Russia's United Aircraft Corporation, planning to purchase a total of 105 Russian Il-114-300 aircraft. For Russia, such large orders in the military aircraft sector have long been commonplace, but in civil aircraft manufacturing, this is a significant step. At present, this is not yet a formal contract, but only a memorandum of purchasing intent. However, in the aviation industry, this situation is very common, and few projects directly conclude binding contracts. The Russian side expects to complete the signing of formal contracts before the end of this year.
