Airbus lowers long-term jet sales forecast for Asia-Pacific region

Airbus has slightly lowered its long-term forecast for new passenger aircraft demand in the Asia-Pacific region. The company now predicts 19,120 new aircraft sales in the region over the next 20 years, down from the 19,560 forecast in November last year. Demand for single-aisle aircraft is expected to be 15,700, down from the previously forecast 16,100; widebody aircraft demand is projected at 3,420, down from the previously forecast 3,500. Airbus expects total global aircraft demand between 2026 and 2045 to be 42,060, down from the previously forecast 42,520. The Asia-Pacific region accounts for 45% of total global new aircraft demand. The company expects passenger traffic in the Asia-Pacific region to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 5.1%, exceeding the global average of 3.9%.
