From September 7 to 9, Li Zhen, Vice Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council, visited Hong Kong to attend the 11th Belt and Road Summit and other events. In his address at the opening ceremony of the 11th Belt and Road Summit, Li Zhen stated that the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping has become the broadest and largest international cooperation platform in the world. Major infrastructure projects in energy, transportation, and digital sectors, in which central enterprises have participated, span all five continents, and a large number of "small yet smart" projects have been implemented, directly creating over one million jobs in host countries. SASAC and central enterprises are willing to join hands with all sectors of Hong Kong and co-building countries to coordinate infrastructure connectivity, industrial integration, and smooth flow of factors, and to form long-term partnerships with governments, enterprises, and sovereign funds of various countries, making good use of Hong Kong's unique advantages in international capital markets, professional services, technological innovation, and cultural exchange, so as to jointly write a new chapter in high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. Before the event, Li Zhen, together with responsible persons of 43 central enterprises, held a discussion with John Lee Ka-chiu, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The two sides exchanged views on deepening cooperation between SASAC and central enterprises and all sectors of Hong Kong, and supporting Hong Kong in maintaining long-term prosperity and stability. During his stay in Hong Kong, Li Zhen also attended the Third GTI Digital Intelligence Hong Kong International Forum and conducted research visits to relevant projects of central enterprises in Hong Kong.
