At a press conference held today by the State Council Information Office, a relevant official from the Ministry of Commerce stated that a commercial network covering both urban and rural areas will be gradually built, effectively supporting the integrated development of urban and rural areas and the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas. Assistant Minister of Commerce Yuan Xiaoming stated that the Ministry of Commerce will promote the construction of a modern circulation system in rural areas, in line with the trend of urban-rural integration, and facilitate the upgrading of the commercial network. At the same time, the Ministry will promote the upgrading of circulation methods, expand application scenarios such as rural e-commerce, improve supply chain collaboration efficiency, extend the industrial chain, and enhance the value chain. Additionally, in response to the trend of brand chains sinking into lower-tier markets, the Ministry will promote the upgrading of service formats and support chain brands in innovating business models suited to local conditions. It encourages healthy competition and cooperation between local and foreign brands, driving an increasingly diverse service industry. Assistant Minister of Commerce Yuan Xiaoming: Since 2021, we have been advancing the construction of the county-level commercial system, building and renovating 3,159 comprehensive commercial service centers in county towns, 15,000 commercial centers in townships, and 168,000 convenience stores in villages. The country has basically achieved full coverage of commercial outlets at the county, township, and village levels. We have cumulatively supported the upgrading and renovation of over 3,600 logistics and distribution outlets in counties and townships, with more than 100 million packages entering and leaving rural areas daily, transforming and upgrading the agricultural product supply chain. We also support the construction of nearly 4,000 facilities for sorting, pre-cooling, and initial processing of agricultural products.
